Marian Hill, retired head of the Gruzzleton Community Library, wants her beloved institution to remain relevant and needed. To this end, she created a puzzle that encourages community members to explore the library, search the stacks, and read the books. But two days before the puzzle challenge was set to unfold, Marian had a stroke and is no longer able to explain the puzzle to the new head librarian, Suni Taylor. Suni is determined to follow through with the event but knows she must first solve the puzzle herself. But when she looked at what Marian had left behind, Suni knew she needed assistance.
